Need Zero Export? Shop the APmeter Zero Export Controller: This optional accessory monitors your home's electricity usage and automatically adjusts the EZ1's output in real time to help prevent excess solar power from being exported to the utility grid.

Generate a portion of your daytime power with a compact, roof-mounted plug-in solar system. This kit combines two high-output HanerSun 590W N-Type TOPCon bifacial panels with an APsystems EZ1-LV-NA microinverter and SunModo NanoRack pitched-roof mounting hardware.

The two solar panels provide 1,180W of combined DC nameplate capacity. The included EZ1 microinverter delivers up to 900VA of continuous AC output through a 120V connection. Some peak DC-to-AC clipping is normal when panel production exceeds the inverter's maximum output.

Compact Roof-Mounted Plug-In Solar

This kit is designed for homeowners who want a manageable way to begin offsetting daytime electricity usage without installing a full-home solar system. It is well suited for houses, garages, workshops, cabins, sheds, and other buildings with a suitable pitched roof and an approved 120V electrical connection.

Each HanerSun panel connects to one of the EZ1's two independent MPPT inputs. The microinverter converts the panels' DC electricity into grid-compatible AC electricity while providing Wi-Fi and Bluetooth monitoring through the AP EasyPower app.

The included SunModo NanoRack components create a low-profile, rail-free mounting system for compatible pitched-roof applications. Site-specific attachment placement and hardware requirements must be confirmed using current SunModo installation and engineering documentation.

Important System Information

  • 1,180W DC / up to 900W AC: The advertised 1,180W rating is the combined nameplate capacity of the two solar panels. Maximum continuous microinverter output is 900VA.
  • Grid-tied operation only: This system does not include battery storage and will not provide backup power during a utility outage.
  • Roof mounting hardware: The included NanoRack hardware is intended for compatible pitched-roof installations.
  • Balcony installations: The EZ1 microinverter is designed for balcony and DIY solar applications, but a separate site-appropriate balcony mounting system is required. Balcony mounting hardware is not included.
  • Zero export is optional: The APmeter Zero Export Controller is sold separately.
  • Local approval is required: Permitting, utility interconnection, smart-meter, dedicated-circuit, and inspection requirements vary by location.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this system produce 1,180W through the outlet?

The two panels have 1,180W of combined DC nameplate capacity. The EZ1 microinverter can deliver up to 900VA of continuous AC output. Output varies with sunlight, temperature, orientation, shading, and system conditions.

Will this kit provide power during an outage?

No. The EZ1 is a grid-tied microinverter and shuts down when the utility grid is unavailable. This kit does not include battery backup.

Is the zero-export controller included?

No. The APsystems APmeter Zero Export Controller is available separately.

Can I install the included mounting hardware on a balcony?

No. The included SunModo NanoRack hardware is designed for compatible pitched roofs. A balcony installation requires separate mounting hardware suitable for the building and installation location.

Can I connect this to any household outlet?

The kit includes a 120V AC power cord, but local electrical codes, utility requirements, and interconnection rules still apply. Some locations may require a dedicated circuit, smart meter, permit, inspection, or professional installation.

Important Installation Requirements

Plug-in solar regulations vary by state, utility company, municipality, and authority having jurisdiction. Before ordering or installing this system, verify all interconnection, permitting, electrical, structural, and utility requirements for your property.

Connect one solar panel to each independent EZ1 input. Do not connect the two panels in series. Installation and electrical work should be completed by a qualified person in accordance with the current equipment manuals, National Electrical Code requirements, and local regulations.
