The Trojan SPRE 06 415 is a heavy-duty 6V flooded lead-acid deep-cycle battery designed for renewable energy, off-grid power, inverter backup, and other stationary applications requiring dependable cycling performance.

Part of Trojan’s Solar Premium line, the SPRE 06 415 incorporates Smart Carbon™ technology, which is specifically intended to improve performance in applications where batteries are regularly cycled at a partial state of charge (PSOC). Trojan identifies renewable energy, inverter backup, and telecom systems as key applications for this technology.

With a 377Ah capacity at the 20-hour rate and 415Ah at the 100-hour rate, this L16-size battery provides substantial energy storage for larger battery banks. Trojan specifies 2.50 kWh of nominal energy at the 100-hour rate.

Built for Solar & Off-Grid Battery Banks

The SPRE 06 415 is particularly suited to systems that experience frequent cycling and periods of partial state of charge. Trojan's Smart Carbon technology was developed to address the performance challenges associated with PSOC operation in renewable-energy and unstable-grid applications.

Multiple 6V batteries can be configured in series and series-parallel arrangements to build appropriately sized battery banks for compatible 12V, 24V, or 48V systems. Battery-bank configuration and charging equipment should be properly sized for the application.

Charging Specifications

At 77°F (25°C), Trojan specifies the following charging voltages for an individual 6V SPRE 06 415:

  • Absorption: 7.35V
  • Float: 6.75V
  • Equalization: 8.10V
  • Maximum charge current: 13% of the C20 rate
  • Maximum absorption time: 4 hours

Trojan also specifies temperature compensation when charging outside 77°F/25°C.

Important: This is a flooded lead-acid battery and must not be installed or charged in a sealed or non-ventilated compartment. Proper charging, ventilation, maintenance, and watering are required for flooded battery installations.
