The Tigo Energy TS4-A-2F 485-00252-22 is a module-level rapid shutdown device designed to provide fire-safety functionality for two photovoltaic modules from a single unit. Part of Tigo's TS4 Flex MLPE platform, the TS4-A-2F adds rapid shutdown capability to standard PV modules while supporting modern high-current and bifacial module designs.
Rapid shutdown signaling is transmitted over the existing PV conductors using power-line communication (PLC). When paired with a Tigo RSS Transmitter or an inverter incorporating a Tigo-certified transmitter, the TS4-A-2F complies with NEC 2017, 2020, and 2023 Section 690.12 rapid shutdown requirements.
Two-Module Rapid Shutdown
One TS4-A-2F connects to and provides module-level rapid shutdown functionality for two PV modules, reducing the number of MLPE devices required compared with single-module solutions.
20A Imp / 25A Isc High-Current Rating
This 25A version supports up to 20A maximum operating current and 25A short-circuit current, making it well suited for modern high-current and bifacial PV modules.
Up to 1,400W Total PV Input
Supports up to 1,400W maximum output power, corresponding to as much as 700W per module input for the 25A configuration.
Two Independent Module Inputs
Provides two PV module inputs with up to 80V maximum voltage per input and a 16–80V Vmp operating range.
99.9% Maximum Efficiency
Ultra-high efficiency minimizes losses through the module-level rapid shutdown electronics.
PLC Rapid Shutdown Signaling
Uses power-line communication over the PV conductors, eliminating the need for separate rapid-shutdown communication wiring.
Automatic Shutdown
The PV array enters rapid shutdown mode following loss of AC grid power when installed as part of a compatible Tigo rapid shutdown system.
<30-Second Rapid Shutdown
Designed with a rapid shutdown time limit of less than 30 seconds.
NEC 2017 / 2020 / 2023 Compliance
Complies with NEC 690.12 rapid shutdown requirements when installed with a compatible Tigo RSS Transmitter or an inverter with a built-in Tigo-certified transmitter.
MC4 Connector Configuration
Part number 485-00252-22 is supplied with MC4 connectors for integration with compatible PV module and string wiring.
Fast Module-Frame Installation
Designed to snap directly onto a standard PV module frame or mount to the PV racking system for flexible installation. :contentReference[oaicite:3]{index=3}>
IP68 / NEMA 3R Protection
Rugged outdoor construction provides IP68 / NEMA 3R environmental protection for rooftop and ground-mounted installations.
25-Year Warranty
Backed by a 25-year manufacturer warranty for long-term system reliability.
PV Systems Requiring Rapid Shutdown
Ideal for installations requiring module-level rapid shutdown functionality in accordance with applicable NEC 690.12 requirements.
High-Current Solar Modules
The 20A Imp / 25A Isc rating supports many modern high-current solar panels, including bifacial modules.
High-Wattage PV Modules
Supports up to 700W per module input, making it suitable for many current-generation large-format modules.
Two-Module MLPE Architecture
One device supports two modules, helping simplify MLPE installation and reduce the number of rooftop electronic devices.
Tigo RSS Transmitter Systems
Designed to operate with a compatible Tigo RSS Transmitter or an inverter containing a Tigo-certified rapid shutdown transmitter.
New or Retrofit PV Systems
Can add rapid shutdown functionality to new installations or upgrade compatible existing PV systems.
