Build a dependable home energy system with the Sol-Ark 18K hybrid inverter and MidNite Power MNPowerflo16 lithium iron phosphate battery. This kit combines an 18kW hybrid inverter with 16.076kWh of nominal battery storage for backup power, solar self-consumption, time-of-use management and appropriately designed off-grid applications.
The Sol-Ark 18K can manage power from solar panels, the utility grid, a generator and battery storage. The MNPowerflo16 adds 314Ah of outdoor-rated LFP storage with integrated heating, active cell balancing and CAN/RS485 communication. Additional MNPowerflo16 batteries can be added as energy needs grow.
Please note: Battery-to-inverter power cables are not included. Solar panels, racking, AC and PV wiring, conduit, external overcurrent protection, disconnects and other site-specific materials are sold separately unless specifically stated. Final cable size, protection and connection requirements must be determined by the installer.
Important Battery-Output Note
The Sol-Ark 18K inverter can provide up to 18kW of continuous AC output when adequate energy is available. One MNPowerflo16 battery is rated for 160A nominal discharge, equal to approximately 8.2kW at 51.2V, with a 210A maximum discharge rating. Battery-only output is therefore limited by the battery BMS and system settings. Additional batteries may be required to support higher sustained backup loads or the inverter’s full output while operating from battery power.
A 16.076kWh battery can support modest household loads for longer periods or larger loads for shorter periods. Actual runtime depends on connected loads, battery state of charge, reserve settings, temperature, inverter losses and system programming.

Warranty coverage is subject to each manufacturer’s registration, installation, operating and maintenance requirements. Review the current warranty documents before purchase and installation.
This equipment must be designed, installed and commissioned by a qualified solar or electrical professional. The installer must confirm battery communication settings, firmware compatibility, conductor sizing, overcurrent protection, disconnects, grounding, mounting requirements, permitting and compliance with all applicable electrical and building codes.
The Sol-Ark battery charge and discharge settings must be programmed for the MNPowerflo16 battery’s operating limits. Final battery-to-inverter communication and closed-loop operation must be confirmed during commissioning.
The MNPowerflo16 is designed for compatible 48V LFP inverters and supports CAN, RS485 and the PYLON communication protocol. The Sol-Ark must be commissioned with the correct battery protocol, current limits, firmware and communication cable arrangement. Compatibility and closed-loop communication should be confirmed by the installer before operation.
The Sol-Ark 18K can support many household loads, but one MNPowerflo16 battery provides approximately 8.2kW at its nominal discharge rating. Large simultaneous loads may require load management, support from solar or a generator, or additional batteries. A professional load analysis is required to determine whether the system can meet a specific home’s backup goals.
This configuration provides a high-capacity hybrid inverter with a practical starting amount of battery storage. The inverter can manage larger solar, grid and generator inputs, while the battery bank can be expanded later. One battery will not supply the inverter’s full 18kW output by itself.
Runtime depends on the connected load. Refrigeration, lighting, internet and selected outlets can operate much longer than central air conditioning, electric water heating, EV charging or other high-demand equipment. Battery reserve settings, temperature and conversion losses also affect usable runtime.
Yes. The MNPowerflo16 supports up to 16 batteries in parallel. Expansion must follow the manufacturer’s requirements for battery age, state of charge, communication, cable lengths, busbars, overcurrent protection and system programming.
Yes. The system can be configured to charge from the utility grid and provide backup power during an outage. Available operating modes may depend on local utility requirements and installer programming.
Yes. The inverter includes a dedicated generator connection and generator-start capabilities. Generator compatibility, wiring and operating parameters must be verified by the installer.
Both products carry IP65 enclosure ratings, and the Sol-Ark is also rated NEMA 3R. Installation must still follow the manufacturers’ requirements for mounting, clearances, temperature, direct sunlight, drainage and environmental exposure.
No. This kit includes the Sol-Ark inverter, one MNPowerflo16 battery and the battery accessories listed above. Solar panels, racking and other balance-of-system equipment are selected separately for the installation.
No. The final cable size and termination method depend on the equipment layout, conductor length, protection method and local electrical requirements. The installer must provide correctly sized battery cables and terminals.
Additional MNPowerflo16 batteries can increase stored energy, runtime and available battery-bank output. The Sol-Ark 18K also supports a large solar array. All expansion plans should be reviewed by a qualified system designer.
