Sol-Ark 18K + 3 Pytes V16 48kWh Home Battery Backup Kit

48kWh of Storage for Extended Whole-Home Backup

Build a powerful home energy system with the Sol-Ark 18K-2P-N hybrid inverter and three Pytes V16 16kWh LiFePO4 batteries. This kit provides 48kWh of nominal battery storage, ample battery-bank output, generator integration and closed-loop battery communication in one expandable energy-storage solution.

The Sol-Ark 18K can manage power from solar panels, the utility grid, a generator and battery storage. Three Pytes V16 batteries provide extended runtime and enough recommended battery-bank output to support the inverter’s full 18kW continuous AC rating, subject to system settings and operating conditions.

Bundle and Save $465

Get the complete kit for $15,999. Purchased separately from US Solar Supplier, the Sol-Ark 18K is $6,267 and three Pytes V16 batteries are $10,197, for a total of $16,464. Bundle them together and save $465.

Plus flat-rate freight shipping for $499.

More Storage, Same 18kW Inverter Output

Three Pytes V16 batteries provide approximately 23.04kW of recommended continuous battery-bank discharge capability at nominal voltage before inverter, wiring, system-setting and operating-condition limits. The Sol-Ark 18K is rated for up to 18kW of continuous AC output, so the inverter remains the system’s AC-output limit. Compared with the two-battery kit, the third battery adds 16kWh of storage, extends backup runtime and reduces the current demanded from each battery while supporting large loads.

Why Choose the Sol-Ark 18K With Three Pytes V16 Batteries?

  • Save $465 with kit pricing: Pay $15,999 for the inverter and three batteries instead of $16,464 when purchased separately from US Solar Supplier.
  • $499 flat-rate freight shipping: The complete kit ships for our standard $499 freight rate.
  • 48kWh nominal battery capacity: Three times the storage of a single V16 for extended backup and greater solar self-consumption.
  • Ample battery-bank output: Three batteries share the load and provide enough recommended discharge capability to support the inverter’s full continuous output, subject to system conditions.
  • Up to 18kW continuous inverter output: Supports demanding residential and light-commercial electrical systems, subject to battery, system and operating conditions.
  • Closed-loop battery communication: The Sol-Ark and Pytes systems can exchange operating information through compatible CAN or RS485 communication.
  • Outdoor-ready equipment: The Sol-Ark inverter is IP65/NEMA 3R rated, while each Pytes V16 battery carries an IP66 enclosure rating.
  • Generator integration: The Sol-Ark 18K includes a dedicated generator connection with generator-start capabilities.
  • Expandable storage: The Pytes V16 platform supports up to 16 batteries, subject to proper system design and applicable electrical codes.
  • Low-temperature operation: Integrated battery heating helps support charging in colder environments.
  • Long-life LFP chemistry: Lithium iron phosphate chemistry provides strong thermal stability and long cycle life.

Designed for Energy Independence and Grid Resilience

This kit can be configured for several different operating goals, including:

  • Whole-home or partial-home battery backup during utility outages
  • Solar self-consumption and nighttime solar-energy use
  • Time-of-use electricity-rate management
  • Generator-supported backup systems
  • Grid-connected or appropriately designed off-grid installations
  • Future battery-capacity expansion

A 48kWh battery bank can support essential household loads for extended periods or operate larger loads for shorter periods. Actual backup duration depends on connected loads, battery state of charge, system settings, temperature, inverter losses and the reserve capacity selected during commissioning.

Professional Installation Required

This equipment should be designed, installed and commissioned by a qualified solar or electrical professional. The installer must confirm conductor sizing, busbars or combiners, equal-length battery cabling, overcurrent protection, disconnects, grounding, communication cabling, firmware compatibility, battery charge limits, permitting requirements and compliance with all applicable electrical and building codes.

The inverter’s battery charge and discharge limits must be programmed for the three-battery bank. All three batteries should be commissioned at a compatible state of charge and connected in accordance with Pytes and Sol-Ark requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the Sol-Ark 18K and Pytes V16 compatible? +

Yes. Pytes documents closed-loop integration between the V16 and Sol-Ark 18K through compatible battery communication. The correct communication cable, firmware and inverter settings must be used during commissioning.

Can this system provide whole-home backup? +

The Sol-Ark 18K can provide up to 18kW of continuous AC output, and three V16 batteries provide enough recommended battery-bank discharge capability to support that rating under appropriate operating conditions. Whether the system can back up an entire home without load management still depends on the home’s actual loads, motor-starting requirements, battery state of charge and support available from solar or a generator.

How long will the 48kWh battery bank run my home? +

Three fully charged Pytes V16 batteries provide 48kWh of nominal storage. After allowing for reserve settings and normal system losses, a practical planning estimate is about 40kWh delivered to household loads.

  • 1kW average load: approximately 40 hours
  • 2kW average load: approximately 20 hours
  • 3kW average load: approximately 13 hours
  • 5kW average load: approximately 8 hours

As a general recommendation, most homeowners should view this system as roughly 12–24 hours of mixed whole-home backup or one to two days when carefully managing essential loads. Central air conditioning, electric heat, electric water heating and EV charging can reduce runtime significantly. Solar production during the outage can extend these estimates.

How is this different from the two-battery kit? +

This kit adds a third 16kWh battery, increasing nominal storage from 32kWh to 48kWh. That is 50% more stored energy than the two-battery version, with greater current sharing across the battery bank. The Sol-Ark’s maximum continuous AC output remains 18kW.

Can I add more Pytes V16 batteries later? +

Yes. The Pytes V16 platform is expandable up to 16 batteries, subject to proper system design. Expansion should follow Pytes requirements for battery age, state of charge, firmware, cabling, busbars or combiners and overcurrent protection.

Can the system operate without solar panels? +

Yes. The system can be configured to charge the batteries from the grid and provide backup power when the grid fails. Available operating modes may depend on local utility rules and installer programming.

Does the Sol-Ark 18K support a generator? +

Yes. The inverter includes a dedicated generator connection and generator-start capabilities. Generator compatibility, wiring and operating parameters must be verified by the installer.

Can the equipment be installed outdoors? +

Each Pytes V16 has an IP66 enclosure rating, and the Sol-Ark 18K is rated IP65/NEMA 3R. Installation must still follow the manufacturers’ clearance, temperature, mounting and environmental requirements.

Are solar panels included? +

No. This kit includes one Sol-Ark hybrid inverter, three Pytes V16 batteries and the battery accessories listed above. Solar panels, racking and other balance-of-system components can be selected separately based on the installation.

Do the batteries include mounting brackets and cables? +

Each V16 includes a wall-mounting bracket, one set of V16 power cables and communication accessories. The installer must determine whether additional cabling, busbars, combiners, overcurrent protection or disconnects are required for the final system design.

How much is freight shipping? +

Freight shipping for the complete kit is a flat $499.
