The Fronius Sensor Card Retrofit IG 4,240,004,Z is a DATCOM plug-in sensor interface designed to expand compatible Fronius inverter monitoring systems with environmental and system measurement capabilities. Installed as a plug-in card, the Sensor Card provides connections for external sensors so operating conditions surrounding a photovoltaic system can be measured and incorporated into system monitoring.
The Sensor Card supports a total of six measurement signals, including two Pt1000 temperature sensor inputs, one irradiance sensor voltage input, two digital inputs, and one analog current input. This allows a compatible Fronius system to collect information such as module temperature, ambient temperature, solar irradiance, wind speed, and energy consumption.
As part of the Fronius DATCOM architecture, the retrofit card provides a practical way to add detailed sensor-based monitoring to supported Fronius IG installations without requiring a separate standalone sensor interface.
Six Measurement Signal Inputs
Provides six dedicated measurement channels for collecting environmental and electrical sensor data from a PV installation.
Dual Pt1000 Temperature Inputs
Two temperature channels support Pt1000 temperature sensors, allowing measurement of both solar module and ambient temperature.
Solar Irradiance Monitoring
Includes an analog voltage input designed to analyze the voltage signal produced by a compatible irradiance sensor.
Wind Speed Monitoring
Digital input functionality allows connection of a compatible wind speed sensor, with the Sensor Card calculating wind speed from the sensor's pulse frequency.
Energy Consumption Measurement
A digital input can be connected to the pulse output of a compatible electricity meter, enabling energy usage to be calculated from the number of recorded pulses.
0–20mA / 4–20mA Analog Input
Supports sensors using standard current interfaces, with selectable measuring ranges of 0–20mA or 4–20mA.
Configurable Digital Inputs
Provides two digital input channels, D1 and D2, for analyzing voltage pulses from devices such as electricity meters and wind speed sensors.
Integrated +5V Sensor Supply
A +5V connection is available for compatible digital sensors that do not have their own external power supply.
DATCOM Plug-In Card Design
Designed as a retrofit plug-in card for integration inside compatible Fronius inverter hardware, helping reduce the need for separate external monitoring equipment.
Fronius IG System Monitoring Upgrades
Ideal for adding sensor measurement capability to compatible existing Fronius IG inverter installations.
PV Module Temperature Monitoring
Supports a Pt1000 sensor for tracking solar module temperature and evaluating PV operating conditions.
Ambient Temperature Monitoring
A second Pt1000 channel can be used to monitor outside or ambient temperature.
Solar Irradiance Measurement
Suitable for installations that need irradiance data to compare available sunlight with actual PV system production.
Wind & Energy Monitoring
Digital channels can support wind speed and electricity meter pulse inputs for expanded system performance analysis.
