The APsystems DS3 117211 is a high-performance dual-module microinverter designed to connect and independently optimize two solar modules. As part of APsystems' third-generation DS3 platform, it combines dual independent MPPT channels, high conversion efficiency, encrypted wireless communication, and advanced rapid-shutdown compliance in a compact grid-interactive inverter.
With a 97.3% peak efficiency, 97% CEC efficiency, and 99.5% nominal MPPT efficiency, the DS3 is engineered to maximize module-level energy harvest. It also supports both 208V and 240V AC systems, encrypted ZigBee communication with an APsystems ECU, and monitoring through the APsystems Energy Management Analysis platform.
880VA Dual-Module Microinverter
Provides up to 880VA maximum continuous AC output while connecting two photovoltaic modules to one microinverter.
Two Independent MPPT Channels
Each connected solar module operates on its own independent maximum power point tracker, allowing each panel to optimize production independently.
300W–660W+ Module Compatibility
The DS3 is specified for PV modules from approximately 300Wp to 660Wp+, providing compatibility with a broad range of modern high-power solar panels.
20A Input Current per Channel
Each DC input supports up to 20A maximum input current, making the DS3 suitable for many newer high-current PV modules.
25A Short-Circuit Current per Input
Supports up to 25A maximum PV short-circuit current per DC input.
208V / 240V AC Compatibility
Designed for North American grid-connected systems operating at either 208V or 240V AC.
97.3% Peak Efficiency
High conversion efficiency helps maximize the amount of DC solar energy delivered to the AC electrical system.
99.5% MPPT Efficiency
High nominal MPPT efficiency enables accurate power-point tracking across varying irradiance and module conditions.
Encrypted ZigBee Communication
Communicates wirelessly with compatible APsystems Energy Communication Units using encrypted ZigBee technology.
Module-Level Monitoring
When paired with compatible APsystems monitoring hardware, production and operating data can be accessed through the Energy Management Analysis platform.
NEC 2023 Rapid Shutdown Compliant
The DS3 platform is identified by APsystems as compliant with NEC 2023 Section 690.12 rapid shutdown requirements.
CA Rule 21 / UL 1741 SB Compliance
Designed as a grid-interactive inverter meeting applicable California Rule 21 and UL 1741 SB requirements.
Galvanically Isolated Design
Uses high-frequency transformers to provide galvanic isolation between the PV and AC sides.
Natural Convection Cooling
Fanless passive cooling reduces moving components and helps support quiet, reliable operation.
Type 6 Enclosure
Features a rugged environmental enclosure designed for demanding rooftop PV installations.
25-Year Standard Warranty
Backed by a 25-year standard APsystems warranty, subject to manufacturer monitoring and warranty requirements.
Residential Rooftop Solar
Ideal for rooftop PV systems requiring module-level power conversion and monitoring.
High-Power Solar Modules
Well suited for modern modules rated up to 660W+ and requiring higher DC input-current capability.
Roofs with Multiple Orientations
Independent MPPT channels allow the two connected panels to operate independently when installed on different roof faces or exposed to different solar conditions.
Partially Shaded Arrays
Module-level conversion helps reduce the impact one shaded or underperforming panel can have on other modules in the array.
208V or 240V PV Systems
Supports flexible installation on compatible North American 208V and 240V electrical services.
