S-5! S-5-CP Solar Carport Attachment Clamp for Rail-Less PV Mounting S-5-CP

The S-5! S-5-CP is a specialized solar attachment clamp engineered for mounting photovoltaic modules to purlin-constructed carport canopies. The “CP” designation stands for carport, and the attachment is designed to pair with the S-5! PVKIT solar mounting solution to create a streamlined rail-less DirectAttach PV system.

Unlike conventional mounting systems that require rails to be added above an open-framed carport structure, the S-5-CP attaches directly to compatible structural purlins. This approach can reduce material requirements, installation labor, and additional structural weight while providing a purpose-built attachment point for PV modules.

The clamp installs from below the purlin using a bottom-oriented setscrew and features a non-penetrating attachment design, eliminating the need to drill holes through the structural member. An optional EPDM gasket can also be used between modules to help minimize water infiltration through the PV array.
