The Discover Energy Systems HELIOS ESS 52-48-16000 is a 16.1 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery for residential solar energy storage, off-grid power and home battery backup. It provides 16,080 Wh of nominal energy capacity at 51.2V, with a 314 Ah rating.
The outdoor-rated cabinet combines an IP65 enclosure, built-in battery heating and an integrated battery management system. HELIOS ESS works with supported hybrid and off-grid inverters, with closed-loop CAN communication for compatible systems.

Is this a 48V or 51.2V battery?
The HELIOS ESS has a nominal voltage of 51.2V and is used with compatible 48V-class inverter systems. Confirm the inverter's supported battery voltage range and communication requirements before ordering.
Can the HELIOS ESS battery be installed outdoors?
Yes. Its IP65 enclosure is rated for outdoor use when installed according to Discover's requirements. Installation location, mounting and clearances must follow the manufacturer manual and local requirements.
How long will a 16.1 kWh battery power my home?
Runtime depends on how much power your appliances use. As a simple example, 16.08 kWh divided by a constant 1 kW load equals about 16 hours before accounting for reserve settings, inverter losses and other operating limits. Whole-home backup sizing also needs to account for peak loads and inverter output.

Warranty
Discover provides a five-year base workmanship warranty for the HELIOS ESS 52-48-16000. Registration with Discover within 30 days of installation extends the workmanship warranty to up to 10 years, subject to the manufacturer's warranty terms. Separate energy performance coverage and throughput limits also apply.
